I have a Permectrin/diesel mix on a cattle rub (sock) and a Permectrin/water mix in a sprayer.

My bull is covered with flies. He walks under the rub. I can also spray him with the sprayer, and the flies just scatter then come right back.

My heifers, cows and calves have very few flies.

Is it a testosterone issue? I can't think of any other reason and if so, what can be done about it?

Sorry if this has been discussed but the search feature doesn't work with my phone

I use permectrin and water and it works for all. The bull definitely has more flies back quicker
than the other bovine. I'm sure someone will tell us why.

Permectrin ISN'T a fly repellent. It's a fly killer.
Give himn a good squirt of a pouron like Boss or Ultraboss, then you'll see the permectin making more of an affect

Oh, my bad. I guess it just takes a while for any flies that get sprayed to die. Kinda like they thought they got away with annoying the cows, and then, dead. :lol2:

Will do. Thanks.
