Fly Control

Flies are terrible on my Jersey and her calf. I'm trying to keep the manure in the pasture raked and soiled hay in the barn spread thin and outside to dry. What works?

A fly swatter, diesel fuel, cedar trees or fly spray.

I use cattle rub for the fly control but since you have only two animals, perhaps you can try a python ear tag?

Cylence has always worked for me. Fly predators do work extremely well as long as you don't use any pesticides around where the flies are laying and your neighbors are not breeding more flies.

I am going to give flies-be-gone fly traps a try this year, putting them near watering areas.
