What's the best way to detect liver flukes or signs of an infestation? I've been rotating between pour ons and noticed that they don't control liver flukes. I'll have to drench next time if any signs of the flukes.

Many people just empirically defluke their cattle. Flukes are detected via fecal sample. We don't have them here so I can't remember the details. Sorry! V

For killing liver flukes you can either drench with Valbazen and subQ inject with IvomecPlus. Valbazen is cheaper but it is a good idea to rotate wormers, as you apparently do. Some years ago my vet told me of another fluke killer that he mixes in with Synanthic, dut dammed if I can remember what it was.

The real question is...how can you tell if they have infested your herd without a pricey fecal exam? I guess it is cheaper and more reassuring to just use a defluker from time to time than to worry about whether you have them or not.
