fishing and cattle

ive never heard that. wouldnt seem to make much sense because cattle graze when the wind is blowing and dont seem to care about the moon etc.

The theory is if the cows are active the fish will be active and vice versa. I've found it to be true-50% of the time.

I think they are not talking about astromony.
I think it does. Bad day for cows=bad fishing
Good day for cows=good fishing.
They get us back, and reward us.

Fellers,i hate to break it to you but my cattle grazed all day today and the fish didn't know it.

The only thing I can remember about this subject is : If the cows are all laying down , then it's not a good day to go fishing.

Speaking of fishing here is a fish story I like to tell ,
When the fish topic comes up I will say " The last time I went fishing , I caught a bass that was , ( About this time I start stretching my arms from a believable distance 12" to a unbelievable distance , as far as I can stretch) About the time , that the audience is ready to start hollering B.S.
I finish up saying "Yup , that bass was atleast that fer from the boat when I caught him!

It's really a visual joke , but I did the best I could to tell it ;-)

Meanwhile back at the rig

Speaking of fish stories, you won't believe this one. When I was in high school my dad and I were fishing a stock tank we had stocked with bass. Some were really nice. Fishing was slow and we got to watching a crazy squirrel that was working his way out over the water on a little pecan limb. There was a stump sticking up out of the water and some pecans were laying on the stump. The squirrel was way out on the limb trying to use his body weight to bend it low enough to jump onto the stump so he could get the pecans. Pretty entertaining. He finally jumped and was pretty proud of himself. Here's the good part. While he was sitting there shelling pecans the biggest black bass I've ever seen jumped out of the water and over the stump, taking the squirrel back under with him. Amazing. Never saw the squirrel again. But what's even more amazing is that later on that afternoon we saw that bass putting some more pecans back up on the stump.

The cows are up feeding but the ice is too thin to walk on and too thick to cast through so I didn't get a chanceto test the theory today
