i'm a little green so bear with me. i'm trying to decipher the daily cattle reports into some hard numbers to get a general idea what it might cost to get a few steers.

can anyone lend me a hand?

i'm looking and it seems like the more they weigh...the lower the price gets...how can that be? or are they figuring the price per 100 lb?

yes, it is price per 100 lbs.

for example, 500 lbs at 135.00 = $675.00

same thing as saying 500 lbs @ 1.35/lb
