If you are feeding on your hay fields during the winter you are getting those same benefits to some extent.
It does help for sure. But I can't feed on all the hay acres, and feeding and/or plant species will not (near as I can tell) add something that was never there ie: Mn, boron, etc.

Be real careful with boron. A tiny bit can be good. I little too much can be a train wreck.

I never claimed to be a soil "expert" but that is a large part of how I made my living for 20+ years.
