I need some help with some fertilizer values.

My Extension office recommends 45 lbs of K2O/acre. I know the number 60 in "0-0-60" represents the potassium or potash I am looking for.

Can I simply:

45 lbs potash * (100 lbs fertilizer/60 lbs of potash) = 75 lbs of 0-0-60/acre.

Or I guess my real question is fertilizer shown as (N - P2O5 - K2O) or is it shown as (N - P - K)

The answer to your real question is when a fertilizer blend is given for instance as 10-20-30, that means it has 10%N, 20%P, and 30%K available nutrients.

wow, around here potash is very high priced. most of the places are not selling much.

Same here. N & P have dropped by about 50%, K hasn;t dropped a penny
