Our local grass seed man says to winterize your grass instead of fertilizing in the spring we tryed this past year and were very impressed with the results it gave us the extra grass we needed through the drought.

Could you elaborate some on this - when you say winterize you grass, what exactly or you doing?

We have about 50 acres of pretty good grass with some coastal bremuda in it and we would like to put out some fertilizer this spring, maybe mid April to May. I was thinking of putting out something with a high nitrogen content. My neighbors have said it worked well on there coastal fields and pastures.
