Actually, I have all of them. Depending on the need. Have a wood lot, a metal lot. Electric fence, some is high tensile wire. And of course I have barb wire fences as well.

Plain and barbed wire as well as electric around the sale bulls.

I guess the fence would depend on your needs and preference. I built a fence along my driveway which also seprates the two pastures. I spaced my wood posts every sixty feet with metal T posts ten foot apart with one string of barb wire on top. The cattle have pretty much torn it up. I am re-building it now. Round wood post every thirty foot embedded in concrete with T posts ten feet apart. Barb wire over the field fence top, center and bottom. Hopefully this system will solve my fence problems.
