Your vet should know. We have two angus one Red one black, little bitty sqyatty things maybe FS 5 or in that area, we had to get a 30 inch wide chute cause they couldn't get their hips in through a standard.

From my experiance with my angus, which is not nearly as much as yall's, I made my chutes 30 inches and some of the angus still rub and scrape their hips. Next time I plan to go 33 or 34 inches.

Nothing wrong with a little rubbing and scraping for the grownups. What about when you're loading calves? Nothing more frustrating than having one of the leaders get turned around in the chute.

Especially if you're following behind them in the chute!! I put 2X4's in behind them to keep them from backing and generally if they try to turn around they don't get too far because of the other ones that are behind them. They then manage to turn back around to the front.
