Feedyard employment in TX?

Howdy.
I am a Georgia native who recently moved to Texas to further my knowledge and career as a horsewoman.
I've been riding all of my life but working with cattle is one thing I've always wanted to do and have never had the opportunity to try.
Hence my venture out here to the Midwest.

I'm sure it's a shot in the dark but, are there feedyards or cattle operations out there willing to hire a seasonal or part time feedyard hand or pen rider?
How does one go about getting their foot in that door?
I'm a strong rider and have a lot of horse knowledge.
I'm really interested in gaining experience in the cattle ranching industry.
Any input, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Texas is a huge state. If you are in the panhandle near Hereford there is lots of feedyards there.

Can't help you with your questions, but we Texans don't usually consider ourselves part of the midwest.
