Is it possible to feed out weaned calves on grass and hay for up to 6 months and them resell them. Pros and cons.

If you have the right grass a long with clover they can put good weight. seem to have a bigger frame too.

Yes, it's possible if you have really good grass and hay, but weaning calves generally grow better with a little grain - especially if you're fall weaning when the grass is not at its best. It doesn't have to be a lot of grain, ours grew very well with good hay and about a pound to 1 1/2 pounds of grain a day/calf.

pound or so seems easy. what problems should i expect from running say 50 calves. 3 mos old to 6-9 mos old
