Hey Guys. Haven't been here in awhile. :) I searched the board but didn't find what I was looking for, so, got a question. I'm probably gonna be feeding our cows nursing calves 15% protein creeper pellets and Alfalfa pellets. (of course they'll be out on pasture too). Now, would ya'll suggest something other that would be better for them? I mean, I just want to feed them what will make mama grow a big calf and keep her in good shape. Any thoughts?

Thanks! :D

If the pasture is any good the pellets and grain is more then needed. If the pasture is marginal, the grain or the pellets should be sufficient. Shouldn;t need both.

If there is grass, even if its rather poor, why not just creepfeed the calves? Then atleast you'll only be feeding something that will increase in value.

I agree, put the feed into the calves. Are you short of pasture, or poor quality?
