Feed wagon with head catch

Anybody on here use a feed wagon with head locks to vaccinate,preg check and treat cattle??

We've got one that in the past we used for AI. We haven't used it in years, will only catch 17 head at a time.

How did that work? I've thought about it. Seems it would be much easier than running them through the pens. Apache makes one that looks like it would work well, but they are pretty pricey.

The are pricey but it worked really well. I set ours to catch individual cows rather then catching all at once. As sson as they stick their head in and lower it to eat they would be caught.

Did you use it for any shots? Seems like you could vaccinate or synchronize a large number pretty quick.

Occasioanlly but it was just as easy to run them through the chute. When they are caught side by side it's pretty tight quarters around their shoulders to be giving shots withou getting stepped on or squeezed between them.
