I posted a message about feed that is wet. I need to add a little more information. The feed is a corn/ molasses mix, a 14% protein mix. Can I feed that wet? If there are problems, what would they be? The feed does not smell bad, but is clumped and sticky.

If you are located somewhere where it has been fairly cold since it got wet, there is a good chance that the feed is ok-just sticky from the molasses. However, if the feed has gotten warm any there is also a good chance for mold and could contain mold compounds called aflotoxins. The rumen is a great detoxifier and can handle a pretty decent load of aflotoxin with out much affect. If you want to feed the feed I would suggest keeping it stored seperate but diluting it out with another source when you feed it. Likewise, I would not use it if I were feeding early pregnant heifers or cows.<br>
