Feed Lots In Louisiana

Why don't they have any feed lots in Louisiana. with mild weather conditions year round it should be a great choice. Louisiana produces lots of feeded calves & transports to other states for feed out. ????

Usually feedlots are in areas that have closer access to feed grains. Also, the heat and humidity may have something to do it. Just guessing! Or maybe they're afraid the skeeters will carry the cows off.
