Just weaned a bottle fed steer calf. What type of feed do I need to be feeding him. He eats dry food readily. I have him eating ground up alfalfa and a sweet feed right now.

Pasture or good grass hay. Depending on his age/size and what you plan on doing with him you may want to discontinue the grain. But if he is in the 2-6 month range I would keep him on it. Alfalfa will work but is kind of pricey for what he really needs. But if that's all you can get you might want to find something else to dilute it a bit
