I can get cracked corn for $5 a hundred ,and I want to mix up a good recipe to feed calfs for super growth.What can I add to this corn to make the calfs really grow.
Are you talking weaned heifers or are you trying to finish steers for harvest? If you are talking weaned calves 400-700#, you can mix corn, oats and soybean meal into a ration of 14% protein. (your local feed mill will know how much). If you have 700-900# steers that you are finishing for harvest (slaughter), corn is good enough. Both rations need good grass hay. Jeanne
