Fat cow pictures

Help Support CattleToday:

This is our wide girl-Max. She's the one who almost got stuck in the chute when I was doing vaccines at 7 mo bred. So, we use our home-made working alley-did AI on her with a bar behind her and a pan of feed in front. Raising a nice RA calf(shown at 4 mo), so I guess she'll do.

Okay, I'll play. This was probably 10 years ago, but Steamroller was large and in charge. 2300 lbs. heavy bred but that fat girl was a prolific breeder. And she came by her name honestly: she'd plow over anything (or anybody) that got in her way - in slow motion. None of the cows fought with or challenged her - ever. 1st pic, heavy bred. 2nd pic, just cooling her fat azz off. She was buoyant, like a whale.Steamroller.jpgP5080009.JPG

Just floatin' around like a big ol hippo!
Love that cow!

These girls are due before long....
Good n healthy!
First cow is Texas. I had to help her with her first calf. Born in July if I remember right. She was plum tuckered out laying by a Buffalo waller with a lil water in it. She was so tired in fact, I just walked up and looped a piece of ratchet strap to the calfs legs and started pulling. That's when she decided to get up and go for a walk....
THRU THE BUFFALO WALLER! Glad I didn't have my good shoes on.
Shes done great ever since.

Then there is Big Bertha...
(This is Sevens mother!)
Hauled her when my attempt at grafting an orphan failed. She always thrived over here at this place. I have plans to sell her after this calf. She's getting some age but does a great job anyway. Notice the lack of hair about her ears... meh, idk, maybe just one more calf.....
