The benefits are already showing. I am set up for total fall calving in a narrow fall window. Now all the cows have the same status - calves are off them, they are bred and can be managed as one group.

I was wondering this morning, since all the cows will be dry - can I turn the weaned heifers I am retaining back into the dry cow herd without concern that they will go back to trying to nurse their dam?

WE do all spring calving and the replacemnts are run with the cow herd during the winter if the bull isn;t also running with them.

Thanks. I only have the fall bull calves. They will be headed to Missouri in June. Fire Sweep finishes and sells my bull calves out there.

I am excited about the one calving season. Lot less work.
