TT hate you lost your twins, sure heart breaking to lose a calf. The heifer was due 9/15 I sure didn't suspect twins. We have had at least one set of twins for the past six years. I totally blame my daughter in law. Up until she had the twin granddaughters we rarely had a set. Now its every year, the good news is this year mamma is taking both and both seem to be healthy, small but healthy.
The heifers were all AI'd on natural service this year so the due dates are scattered around from Mid September to about the 2nd week of Oct. The due date of our ET calves is 10/12 and AI calves are 10/14. I just hope we don't have a repeat of last year we had a bunch calve late August a number of the early calves just didn't make it. It was just so freaking hot, I believe that was a big part of the issue. I also blame my sire selection on part of the problem, but I will leave that to a different thread.
