Really nice productive looking young cow. What breed did you breed her to and what sort of a job did she do on the calf ?

Well, here is the rest of the story.....

She was bred Red Angus (90 lb BW bull). Her calf was born on April 1, BW of 60 and a weight of 372 on Sept 1, that gives her a ADG of 1.88.

Compared to the rest of the heifers calves that we weighed that day, their average weights were:455 and their ADG was: 2.11.

So we are a bit disappointed in her. But she will stay for another year. She will have to do a much better job next year if she wants to stay around.

Were the other heifers bred to the same bull?

Some were some weren't, most of the calves out of that bull are pretty big calves (500+ lbs). We haven't weighed them all as some of them are in a different pasture.

looks can be deceiving i would have thought she would have done better. good record keeping helps.
