Here is a 2 year old home raise heifer. She will be done with this years calf in about 2 weeks. She is out of a Horned Hereford cow and Black Angus bull.

Well, here is the rest of the story.....
She was bred Red Angus (90 lb BW bull). Her calf was born on April 1, BW of 60 and a weight of 372 on Sept 1, that gives her a ADG of 1.88.
Compared to the rest of the heifers calves that we weighed that day, their average weights were:455 and their ADG was: 2.11.
So we are a bit disappointed in her. But she will stay for another year. She will have to do a much better job next year if she wants to stay around.

Were the other heifers bred to the same bull?
