Eye injury?

Seen this late yesterday and almost thought he had a wart coming up by the corner of his eye. Got him up and now it looks more like a sore or something scabbed over. Any suggestions? May ask my vet tomorrow but felt it was not worth calling after hours.

This is just a guess based on your description, but it could be the start of cancer eye.

It looks like he may have been poked by a tree branch, or something. Have you tried flushing the eye and applying some antiseptic cream or spray?

I agree with Msscamp. Looks more like an eye injury, not the start of Cancer.

looks like a poke in the eye to me also....but how much of a fly problem do you have? Flys possibly irritating it?

Not real bad on flies.

Will cancer eye happen in a 500# calf?

Looks like he scraped it to me. Put some ointment on it and gave him some antibiodic just in case.

Don't think you have to worry about cancer eye in a 500 lb calf. Your description sounded like it was possible, but not on a calf I doubt. I've only ever seen it in older animals. It is probably an injury from him scraping it on something as the others have said.
