.....Greek God of darkness and shadows. This calf is totally dark.

Dam is one of my cows raised here. Extremely docile cow.
Sire: Upgrade
Due: 9/28/2019
DOB: 10/04/2019
Gestation: 291 days.
Weight 88 pounds.
Bull calf.

I am surprised that this calf is not heavier built. Upgrade is not calving ease. He has made big calves here. She had an Upgrade bull calf last year at 105 pounds. She went 287 days last year and 291 days this year.

Calf looks very healthy and mama looks great (from what I can see in the pic). But interesting. How old is the cow? Any big dietary change?

She was born 10/6/2015. So four. This is her third calf. Her first calf was an Uno Mas, 78 pounds. That is the heifer Kentuckyguy bought. Now 2 Upgrades. I think I will try a new bull on her this breeding season.

No change in diet. But the forage last year was much better.

This is her first calf (courtesy of Kentuckyguy), Cocoa, with her Shell Shocked.
