Eprinex & Cydectin

Help Support CattleToday:

We haven't used Eprinex. We've used Ivomec pour-on in the past. We tried Cydectin pour-on this spring and the only problem we had was that it didn't seem to be as effective for ticks.

Neither are very good for external parasites, however they are both rain proof. Ivermectrine with an alcohol carrier does a better job on external parasites and it is cheaper. I like valbazen and worbex or 1/3 dose of Ivermectrine (never could spell a lick)

We used Cydectin and have had problems with tick this year as well. We have used ivomec pour on in the past and did not have the problem with ticks.

We used the Eprinex one year, it didn't seem to work as well as just the plain Ivomec pour-on. So we only use Ivomec now.

I live on the edge of the Piney Woods and havn't seen any ticks this year.
Although, we have a pretty good flock of cow birds that stay with the cattle.

Based on your user name I figure you were from the Rio Grande Valley.
