EPD stands for Expected Progeny Difference. "A measure of hte expected progeny difference in performance of a sires progeny hwne compared to the average progeny performance of all sires evaluated in the same breed. This performance is based on actual progeny performance, performance information, and pedigree information of the individual and relatives." That's the official terminology. Each EPD category means a different trait, i.e. Birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, maternal milk, etc. Each breed association web-site has the epds for their breed and a discription of what they mean.
