I'm not quite sure if I understand your question, but if you are asking for assistance on how to use EPDs go to: 1. <A HREF="http://www.gelbvieh.org" TARGET="_blank">www.gelbvieh.org</A> 2.click on Resources/Links 3.Click on Resource Library-fact sheets 4.click on Using Gelbvieh EPDs

Remember that EPDs are breed specific. So you can't compare a Hereford and Simmental bull based on their idividual EPDs. EPDs can only be used to compare bulls of the same breed.

Here's a link to an Angus publication that is written to help bull buyers understand Angus EPDs. I think you can print it from the web site:

<A HREF="http://www.angus.org/pubs/bullbuy.htm" TARGET="_blank">http://www.angus.org/pubs/bullbuy.htm</A>

While each breed has their own set of EPDs and the EPDs of a Brangus (for example) bull shouldn't be compared to a Simmental (for example) bull's EPDs, MARC has created a cross breed EPD chart. That chart allows you to compare bulls across breeds.

I went to this site and printed how to read EPD's. What I learned is that breeding cattle is a real science. If you want to have the best herd possible it is important to have as much knowledge as possible. It makes sense to me and I thank Frankie for giving me the web address. Paull
