Energy Supplement to Balance the Spring Flush

I like to use cob corn to provide both energy and fiber, but don't have any this spring. I do have a lot of oats and the price is right. Have you had spring flush success supplementing calves with a corn grain and oats mix?

i know this feeding oats to calves will cause them to get slick an shiney.

I had good luck using oats to start them out with when the oats are cheap.

Oats have about 90% of the energy of corn, but probably more than corn "with" the cob.
