embryos: what do you think they'll bring?

Help Support CattleToday:

embryos are hard work for the seller. I havent seen any embryos worth more than $250-300 and can about guarantee i never will.

they will cost you quite a bit more than most people think to get them on the ground. you will probably lose 50% of them on implant, you will not get a commercial calf out of the recip, the vet bill isnt cheap, etc.

It's the off season for buying embryos, and while it's a powerful pedigree, Bullet is unproven, so I think you could get them for $250 to $300 each. I think it's $80 to have them shipped to you. CIDRs, drugs and vet to implant should be about $100 - $150 each. If all goes well you should get 2 calves from the three embryos, maybe 1, maybe 3. About $1300 for what could be 2 very good calves. If it fits your program, go for it.

Have you put in your bid, or are you waiting til tonight? It looks like there will be some good deals.
