Most family farms and ranches were not an animal monoculture --- they had beef cattle, milk cows, horses, chickens, hogs, etc. Quite a few had goats and sheep as well, although I dare say llamas and alpacas were mighty scarce!
Keep on doing what give YOU pleasure and keep up your grades – you might have a future as a vet if it appeals to you later in life.
