We put into use our first electric fence today. Only ran one strand with the advice of a local rancher. A few of the cows are walking under it with no reaction. We know its hot, watched others touch it with their nose and react. Will another strand help? We'd really like this to work.

I like 2strands with bulls and cows only pastures anything with calves I run 3 only on temporary fences will I run 1 strand. my cattle can only stand hitting the fence repeatedly if they have there winter coat

Walking under it?

Might be a tad high off the ground.

One strand is all I've ever used. I'm guessing it's not grounded good enough. Maybe a silly question, but have you touched it yourself?
