election day full lunar eclipse early next week.

Help Support CattleToday:

The eclipse will be great too.
Simply:
Times are EST:
total eclipse begins 5:15 am

maximum eclipse 6:00 am

total eclipse ends 6:40 am

But I had to include this little tidbit from a Yahoo News article........

The total lunar eclipse will be visible throughout North America in the predawn hours — the farther west, the better — and across Asia, Australia and the rest of the Pacific after sunset. As an extra treat, Uranus will be visible just a finger's width above the moon.

(I'm glad they didn't phrase it "a finger's width from Uranus")

solid cloud cover.
Can't find Uranus with both eyes...

(Cleared just enough to see it begin to return to full right before it slipped below the trees..)

Same here. Overcast is so low this morning, I can see the neighbors yard light glowing over the ridge. Looks like something out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

For once it wasn't overcast for this lunar event, however, I'd forgotten about it. I walked the dogs before beginning feeding chores, and was surprised to see the moon half full when it had been full just a couple of days before. About 20 minutes later when I was putting hay in hay racks and I saw only a sliver of moon was visible which reminded me of the eclipse. It was beautiful to see.
