How so? These ones doesn't look like extremely DM to me. Very similar to Piedmontese more than European Belgian Blues. That said they should just imported Boran cattle to Brazil.

twice the muscle,,jump twice as high.. :cowboy: don't see any reason for ""more" lean muscle on Brahman...looks like they could be the hard keeping type..
At least they're putting more beef in these sorry-lookin nelores in Brazil.

True, I would also go on to say that they should produce very tender beef(due to DM)

So basically a Brahman with very tender beef(due to DB), with easy calving. it's a win win situation here.

Gaurus, just because the animal is a DM, doesn't mean it will produce tender beef as there are different types of double muscle. Some Belgian Blues can be tough and parthenaise cattle are known for that, hence why they didn't take off in United States like Piedmontese did. American Blues have improved in tenderness from breeding-up programs.

The myostatin mutation in Belgian blues doesn't add easy calving, so it's very brave to state that this cross going to be easy calved. Blues can be very very hard calved. If there is even a small% of BB in a cow, she can throw a big muscled calf anytime and have difficulties at calving...

Brahman/Zebu cows don't have issues with calving.

No but Double muscled females can have issues with calving, even if the calves are only 100lbs.

But these were crossed with Belgian blues to get that double muscling. If these have the same mutation as Belgian blues, then there will appear some calving problems sooner or later.
