I've got about 20 heifers that I need to put a good calving ease bull on. I was thinking about Bieber Make Mimi. Any ideas?

Also, what is your favorite Red Angus bull all around?

Don't have a favorite all around bull. Some work better on some cows then others. But for a heifer making bull, I really like Glacier Nyack. Not sure if he's still available from ABS, but I bought 20 units last year and use it very sparingly.
For calving ease, our all time favorite is Basin Hobo 79E from ABS. Calves come easy, they're vigorous, grow better then I expect and we've gotten remiums on the ones that went through one of the feedlots that divides a percentage of the premiums they recieve with the seller. That's with out having to retain ownership or a percentage of ownership.
For a good growwthy well muscled bull we like Glacier Chataeu from GENEX. Tried Buster, lousey, tried Brown Vacation, just a little light muscled but decent calves. Had a lot of problems with BC Hobo and the only calves we had this year, including the heifers, that didn;t have #1 muscle were the BC Hobo steers out of some well muscled heifers. Don't recall who else we've used and just let go without using again. Tried Cherokee Canyon, calves are really pretty good, daughters calving ease numbers stink, but we fed out a heifer sired by him and she was the biggest lard butt I've ever seen. We were feeding several so we fed for the average, she got out of hand fatwise in comparison.
I think we used the last of him on some poor quality grading cows this year just to use it up.
This is a erfect example of "one mans mead is another mans poison". He was the #1 Red Angus bull for registrations last year, well over twice as many as the second place bull. But I don't like him.

Have you used Make Mimi at all?

Nope. But I've been looking at him and thinking about him for next spring.

EPD's about to get about right for you Dun? They have fallen 25% since spring. If someone came into your pasture and took that many pounds of calf you would call them a thief. :D Of course I don't believe in epd's ! I can still use him. I think he is a nice stylish and well balanced bull. Real pretty. I don't care for his back wheels and everytime I have seen a picture of him he looks too tight flanked which is important on my place. Does any one know what frame bull he is
Sorry , I am editing to correct. After making the statement I checked and it was spring of last year when his epd's were 25% higher. BW,WW, and Yw were the epd's I was refering to.

He is 57" so that puts him at about a frame 5.5.

Tod do you know what he weighs and have you used him? You can pm me if you want or continue here , which ever you prefer.

Accelerated Gen. has him listed @ 2300 lbs. I haven't used him. I didn't like his flank and he had a large hunk of hide right below his jaw. The rest of the dewlap was fine just below his jaw. Some of his earlier pics were touched up but I don't know about the recent ones. His sire's dtrs. from what I understand can be a bit hard doing but his maternal grand sire produced easy keeping dtrs. His CETM is extremely low. I like the look of him other than that but probably won't ever use him.

I'm using a lot of Cherokee Cnyn sons. Hoping to get the good of CC and leave out the bad. I really like Major League but I'm waiting for his accuracy to come up. I also like Cheyenne. He is about the same frame as CC but with more performance, marbling, CETM, and length but not as much meat.

I hadn't looked at Mimi since last year. Have no idea how his EPDs look now and that's why we're real boogers about accuracy. If we used him it was going to be strictly as a terminal sire the same as we used CC. Wouldn't want any of his daughters on the place.
For our marketing, anything that doesn't contribute to carcass and growth is just extra baggage. That's why I posted earlier or somewhere else about different bulls for different purposes.

One of the advantages of AI, you can use several bulls at once depending on your needs.
