Drought relief?

Help Support CattleToday:

We have a 60% then 40% chance of thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday respectfully.
Coming from the NNE. Might make their way down farther south...

Got a little last night and a little this morning. Not worth measuring. Lady across the street has her sprinklers going every day and her lawn is still brown. (so is mine)

I'd like to say I don't miss worrying about grass for cows but I do miss it.

I think this is just the start of the drought.. of course, i think this every year. But, going into a summer with ponds already low, no grass..... and then all winter, no rain and go into next year like that.. Kind of what happened in 2011... We still have some grazing, we're stocked piled with hay. Had ponds all dug out and several new ones made. I'm ready for another 2014.... we culled down to a little over 100 cows in 2011 and when calves were going for 1500 and old cows were bringing 2500, made us sick. We said that year, we'll always have 2 yrs of hay on hand, ponds in better shape and we'll do what we can to hold on to all our cows. I have drought PTSD, but, i know its coming....
