Does injury to dam slow fetal development??

Earlier I posted a picture of an older cow, probably 12-13 that got a knocked off hip about halfway thru her pregnancy. She is now overdue, but appears to be slowly bagging up.

Would an injury, especially in a slightly older animal, cause the fetus to reach maturity slower due to the mother's own healing process?

No. They keep things going to the foetus to the detriment of themselves.
