Approx 6 months old, purebred Murray Grey.

Very nice, well developed heifer. Was she creep fed or just a good mom and lots of grass? She would make my keeper pen for sure.

She had a good mom, and horrible pasture---she was
raised in the drought last year. We did get one rain late
last summer and that photo was taken a week or so after the little rain.
We sold her in last year's internet auction. This year's auction (Oct 7th through 13th) will have some heifers as good or better than her. Also, one of our members is going to retire out of the beef business and will be selling about everything he has. His son wants to get into grass-based, seasonal dairy instead of beef. He will have some high percentage bred cows with calf at side, born about april & may as I understand. He will
also have some long yearling 3/4 Murray bred heifers.
Most of his cattle are not registered; some purebred and
some cross.

Another farm in Missouri will have some purebred, registered
3-in-1s to offer - and I think Wisconsin also. I am slowly
getting a better idea of what will be in the sale. Here's
the site: http://www.murraygrey.net/cgi-bin/auction.pl
At present some "sample" animals are listed that were
sold last year; so people can see how the site works.

She is very well balanced Jeanne. Deep bodied and thick.

Is her front feet slightly splay footed? or is that just the way she is standing?

Beautiful heifer Jeanne! As I've told you before, I wish you weren't so far away...I'd love to add some of your cattle to my herd!

Hi Mike C: I didn't notice anything wrong with her feet---
and I suppose the buyer didn't either; I didn't hear anything
like that from him then or since. She was(is) an ET
calf & has a perfect 6 "stars" for the tenderness gene test.

Jeanne, I think she is a very good animal. You threw a ringer this time everyone had nothing but good to say.
