Dodge auto tranny

Anyone heard anything or have any experience with the new auto trans in the newer dodges? Found a real good deal on a new truck but it is a auto. I've always had standards. How well will it pull a 24' gooseneck? The truck has the new 600 diesel in it so it should have plenty of power. Any thoughts would be helpful. thanks

No personal exp with the new 600, but have read many posts on http://www.turbodieselregister.com/ and on http://www.dieseltruckresource.com both have forums that you can read. Be prepared to spend some time there is alot of info on these sites.

It sounds like the new auto is a lot better than the older trans, but I spend my time on the older model forums.

I don't know any thing about the never dodges but we have a 90 dodge 250 with a cummins diesel atuomatic with 150,000 miles of hard use ( heavy pulling and snow plowing) and we have never had any problems

I've got an '03 Dodge 3/4 ton with the Hemi and automatic transmission. I recently pulled the trailer with a 1,500 lb bull and 1,400 lb cow to the sale barn and didn't have a lick of trouble. I've pulled the trailer with it a few times now and haven't had any problems with power at all. Hope it keeps up.
