Have a great primary care doctor who will take the time to talk to you and is very caring during appointments. However, all incoming calls to his office go straight to voice mail and have to wait for call back, sometimes hours. Of all the doctors I have dealt with this is the only one that doesn't have a live human being that answers incoming calls. Needless to say it is quite frustrating to have to play phone tag just to set up an appointment.

Are there other doctors out there that operate this way. If yes, how do you handle it. Any suggestions on how to get them to change. Thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately doctors have been put into a tight bind. Used to, they could act like god and play golf every Wednesday afternoon. With the advent of obammycare, now most doctors are forced to see as many patients as they can run through the process because there payments from insurance companies and medicare are getting lower and lower. Imagine, now doctors have to work for a living just like the rest of us. It does not yet seem to me that this applies to specialist but I feel certain that it soon will. Your doctor is probably trying to cut costs by using automation rather than people.

Yep, he's probably trying to cut costs. Their revenues are being cut while expenses still go up. Gotta do something.
Personally, I would prefer he/she cut the receptionist that would answer the phone instead of cutting the really important stuff, like
face-time with patients. :2cents:
