do beef breed grow faster?

i have heard that beef breeds grow at a faster rate is this true. i buy bottle calves in the fall and try to only keep them 14 mos. to avoid feeding mature animal through the winter.thanks

They do not grow faster, they finish growing sooner. :lol2:

Seriously though, typically dairy breeds are larger so it takes them longer to complete their growth. They are still growing frame after beef breeds have finished frame and started putting their food into muscle then fat.
