If you got enough colostrum down the calf then you can pen them in a small pen and when the calf hungry enough they'll suck

FINALLY nursing mama this morning. Frankly he showed no sign as of last night that he was even trying. Just lazy? We put another cow/calf pair in the lot with them yesterday morning as an example of how it's done...am I giving their thought process too much credit? Whatever the reason, relieved she isn't going back in the shoot for milking.

Also, my status graduated to cowhand! :cboy:
