diesel/kerosene torpedo heater reliability?

Help Support CattleToday:

On a side note, it's a good idea to follow the warnings on the heater regarding operating them without the main tube / cover in place. I repaired one once and thought I would test fire it in the shop with the cover off so I could make sure everything was working properly, not leaking, etc. Turns out that is the recipe for making flame throwers, burning diesel was everywhere in no time flat. :dunce:

Have a john deere with a bad board or something - have to flick it off an on a couple dozen times for it to register a temp before it will light. throws an error most times.

We have a John Deere that's 4 or 5 years old. It's been problem free so far (knock on wood).

Well I got the 75K btu one. Yes it's noisy, but it is warm.
Not sure how long the plastic handle will hold up if I move it much with it full of diesel tho. Seems kind of a dinky way to attach a handle, with 2 little metal screws.

I built a cart for mine. Makes it much easier.
