I specifically want to know the name of the area above the hoof and below the first joint on the leg. On a horse it is the pastern. Is it the same on cattle?

I'm sure everyone should know this but... I don't.

As far as I know, the area above the pastern would be considered the cannon, then the knee, elbow etc.

I had this picture or one like it years ago when I was in 4-H.

Looks like pastern is correct but rather than cannon it is called the shank. Interesting.
