I have 5 bred cows and 2 heifers. What is the most efficient way to deworm? I've heard of pour on method as well as safeguard deworming blocks. What's been your experience and what products have you used. HELP

I worm twice a year, spring and fall, and I alternate between Cydectine pour-on and Ivomec injectable. Seems to work well for me. If you use the same product for an extended period of time the parasites could possibly build up a tolerance to it. It is always good to ask around and see what others are using in your local area. There is no one-size-fits-all best program.

I use the pour-on method the majority of the time. Occasionally I'll use the injectable.

I find the pour-on to be the easiest and most convenient. I've used Cydectin and Ivomec, currently I've got the 5 liter jug of Phoenectictin (a generic of Ivermectin). Seems to work just as well as the name brand but considerably less expensive.

I have not used the blocks, as I don't think they'd work well in my situation.
