I was impresssed how they saved this Church.
I didn't get the best angle to show it. But the high-rise was designed to save the Church and allow space in the back to use the doors, etc. The high-rise is horseshoe shaped to not infringe on ingress, egress and regress of the Church:

Good pics. You captured most of the really good ones
I wish I had a longer life-span. I would like to live in Denver for a few more years, but a person has to make choices. My mind wants to experience many things but time limits what I can feed it. :(

Here are a couple more:
Better shot of that horseshoe shaped high-rise that was designed to save the Church:

My son just moved to Castle Rock from Highlands Ranch and he loves Colorado and will never move back to Oklahoma.

Neat pictures Ron! Those high rises give me the creeps though, I would not want to work in one everyday. Do not like my feet that high off the ground. :p

What's your thoughts on the controversial paintings/murals inside?

GB, these pictures were taken around 2008. I lived in a Studio Apartment from 2005 to 2010 in the Uptown area near the capital (highest homicide rate in Denver). I could walk to the US EPA office on the west end of 16 street. I was one of three Remedial Project Managers (RPMs) on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) Federal Facility (FF). The RMA was one of the highest profile FFs in the US. The site often got visits from Senators, heads of DoD and Environmental Groups. The Responsible Party was the Department of Defense and our role was to enforce the Remedial Action set forth in the Record of Decision lodged in Federal District court.

In regard to the paintings/murals: I don't know what you are referring to.

Here is the apartment where I lived:

Very nice pictures Inyati. You could of left the EPA building out though, personally don't like thieves. I thought they painted giant murals at the airport.

Thanks. I was assuming that is why GB ask if I flew into Denver. I have not gone through the Denver Airport since about 2009. Last time I went to Denver, I drove out and that was August 2011.

GB, thanks for sending me the link and images of the murals. Now that you mention it, yes I do remember them. The horse is impossible not to see. You see it off to the left about 500 yards before you get to the airport facility. I don't see anything remarkable about the horse.

The murals are not to my taste.

BTW: I have been pronouncing "murals" incorrectly. I say and spell it "murials". I have a congenital hearing issue. It was revealed when I started school. Throughout my life, I have mispelled and mispronounced several words because I was hearing them diferently than they were. For example, "nextdoor", I thought they were saying "nextstore". It was only a few years ago that I realized, I had misused that word for over 50 years. A woman I worked with was over-heard by me making a comment to a fellow worker. She was a new public relations employee and was assigned to a high profile enforcement action I was working. She was raised in New York. She commented to one of the Enforcement Specialist who was a good friend of mine, "Ron does a great job but he talks funny." Russ replied, "We all don't talk like Walter Cronkite." I thought that was a good response.

I never took notes in school. I relied on my own effort to obtain the class material. In a couple of classes, I had to ask the professor where he was getting his lecture material. It was an advantage. I over prepared for my classes because I would dig deeper then the class required. It never hurts to "learn".

PS: My son has great word skills. Every word is spoken precisely. I saw him at Thanksgiving. He still corrects the old man. I enjoy it. It is cute to watch how precise he maintains himself.

PS2: There is a person on CT that has a more extreme hearing problem than I. It has influenced his writing. Someone made a comment on his inability to express himself. I am cautious about saying certain things that might poke someone in the wrong spot. I acknowledge I post messages in which the content aggravates some but I hope I avoid being inadvertently personal.

It's a shame that folks like you didn't get in cancer research Inyati. I do believe with all the money that's been spent on cancer, and the research and development of tools and cures. That someone over looked the cause and prevention aspects of cancer. Unless the AMA or our government won't let or stops R&D, or changes directions when someone gets close to finding a cure or how to prevent cancer from growing. I feel people with your intelligence and drive can help us all. Hopefully one of these days someone will find a cure or preventative for cancer.
