dead beast

We have found a dead steer and are unsure why it is dead. It seems badly bloated, tongue is out perhaps caused by swelling around the head and has a small amount of blood on the tail. The beast was in good condition last week. Any ideas?

The best thing to do is to call a vet and do an autopsy. There are too many possible diseases and viruses to say for sure.

was the animal caught any way? you describe a cast animal
