I have recently changed my views on buying a Toyota or Nissan. Currently the wife drives a Toyota Avalon, but the next car will probably be a Chevy Impala.
I use to view it that they all get parts from everywhere and that cars like the Camry and others are made here in the U.S. so it really does not matter. Or that Ford has vehicles built outside the U.S.
But my new view is that even if Toyota has plants here, in the end the Toyota company is a Japanese company and profits go back to Japan. Even if a few workers are helped, buying a Ford or Chevy (no Dodge for me again) not only helps give jobs to Americans but it keeps the profits here in America.
Not to mention if we destroy our American Auto makers and they do not exist who will step up and make Tanks and military equipment like the Auto industry did during the past World Wars? We as Americans have a vested interest in keeping factories open and building things, not only is it an economic advantage but it is a matter of National Security!
