What are some methods of raising day old dairy heifers. What should be my feeding program to get them to the right weight. Are there anything that can be used to stop there diseases.I have raised 40 of them last year and lost some of them

Insure they have had colostrum, good quality 20-20 (at a minimum) milk replacer made from milk and milk byproducts, not soy. Calf starter grain by the time they;re a week or so old and good quality grass hay, wean them when they're eating a minimum of 2 pounds of grain a day. Keep feeding them grain up until they are old/big enough to breed.

If you are raising day old beef you are going to lose some. If you are raising day old dairy ~ you are going to lose more. Just the way it is.

Good Luck!
