Dairy cow

I got a 4 year old cow that had a calf. She is full of milk.I don't really want to milk her,or put another calf on her.Will she be ok if she doesn't get rid of all her milk? Will she cut back on production or do I need to milk her out?

She'll back off on her own, but keep an eye on her for mastitis while she is partially drying off.

If you want her to slow down on the milk production do not milk her out. What are you feeding her? If it is a hot ration she may take a while to slow down.
